“Delve into the subconscious mind of five rockers documenting their struggles in life, on a quest for self-improvement through a fusion of musical genres such as grunge, hard rock and progressive metal..”

Listen to what others are saying about Underwing!

“In fact, countless sections and passages bring to mind Alice in Chains at their heaviest and most riff-based, which is to say that Underwing know damn well how to conjure up meaty and bone-crushing riffs with substance and weight to them. Other acts such as the mighty Black Sabbath and to some extent the otherworldly proggers Tool also come to mind whenever I spin this disc.” – Eternal Terror

“Also unique, Underwing implements instrumentation that contrasts heavy, forward-driving, complex drumming with meaty, weighty guitars and an always-solid bass foundation that represents both sides. These two energies seem too opposite to work well, but they’re held together with remarkable skill. The guitars even have a bit of a bluesy metal, Black Sabbath vibe, which works well.”- Ethan Collins, The Ed Blog

Underwing’s progressive grunge is an honest and dualistic approach to self-improvement, acquired through authentic experiences wrapped in layers of self-reflection.

By taking inspiration from genres such as prog, stoner and grunge, the band has made a unique musical expression. In short: If Black Sabbath and Alice in Chains had a lovechild that was adopted by Tool, who coincidentally lived next door to Soundgarden and Motorpsycho, the result would be Underwing.
